Compounded semaglutide contains the same molecule (semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist) as brand-name Ozempic and Wegovy, but it is prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies rather than the original brand manufacturer. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been independently trialed.
